JEHANE BODEN SPIERS prints and textiles

Jehane Boden Spiers was born in Brighton and has 18 years experience as a textile artist and designer.

Jehane has a passion for colour, travel and history. Inspired by a love of literature, Jehane was one of the first designers to use language and writing in fine-art textiles and design. Combining collage and embroidery with quotations, calligraphy, poetry, maps, old documents, and extracts from dictionary definitions, Jehane’s work is researched with an emphasis on history and personal associations.

Private commissions include fine-art textile pieces for interiors in the UK, Europe, Santa Fe, and Australia. Retail commissions include projects for English Heritage, Sydney & Vienna Opera Houses, Royal Shakespeare Company, and Liberty of London. Published areas include textiles, gift-ware, greeting cards, stationery and illustration.

Jehane has been invited to give talks and run workshops at the Victoria & Albert Museum; notably ‘Art of the Stitch’and at the newly built V & A’s Sackler Centre.
