LINDA CALVERT ceramics
I love the translucence and whiteness of bone china. These bone china bowls and tealight holders are slipcast (some have paper clay additions) and fired to 1260°C. The high temperature causes some movement and warping in the kiln which is unpredictable and makes each object individual. Bone china is vitrified at this temperature and becomes very strong and translucent. At the same time the edges are very fine and somewhat fragile, so handle with care.
